Condition Although our present copy is an incomplete version of the atlas volume, the plates are clean and crisp, and the original binding is restored tastefully to it’s original grandeur. Lacks title and 45 plates, one plate with tear restored otherwise a very good copy.

Notes A rare series of lithographed plates by Christian Wilhelm von Faber du Faur, who was a Stuttgart-born career soldier and served as an artillery captain for years in the Napoleonic army. An amateur artist, Faber du Faur’s eye-witness sketches of the campaigns and life in Russia are remarkable.
