Cover recent full calf, upper and lower board with double straight lined embossed boarder. Spine with 6 gilt designed compartments of raised bands, green morocco label on two and black morocco label on four. 
Illustration All edges tinted red, title page in red and black with a printer’s device. Elaborate head and tail pieces and initials. Engraved frontis, 3 folding maps and 16 plates. The three maps in the book are as follows, “Carte Particular du Perou”, “Carte de la Louisiane et du Cours du Mississpip,” and “Le Cours du Fleuve Missisipi.”

Condition Uniform toning otherwise a very good to fine example of this important work regarding Peru.

Notes Text in French Volume 1 is “Histoire de Yncas” and Volume 2 is “Histoire de la Conquete de la Floride” Garcillasso de la Vega was a Peruvian historian and acclaimed writer who is recognized primarily for his contributions to Incan history, culture, and society. Although not all scholars agree, many consider Garcilaso's accounts the most complete and accurate available.
