Cover Skillfully rebacked full calf preserving 17th century boards with triple blind ruled borders and gilt floral corners; spine with five (5) raised bands and gold central tooling flanked by horizontal triple fillets; gilt title on two, dated; all edges red. 
Illustration Illustrated with large decorative printer's device - to title and final leaf respectively – and numerous rubricated woodcut initials. 
Size Small Folio (332x203mm). 
Condition Title page and final leaf mounted on guards with some repairs. Worm holes affecting the text of first four leaves repaired with minor loss. Ink marginalia in contemporary hand. Otherwise in very good condition. 
Provenance Numerous leafs watermarked, including title and colophon ; illustrated ex libri : “Iohn Conyers, Esq. Copt Hall, Essex. 
Pagination Illustrated title, bl., intro, index, ff.369, bl., printer’s device on colophon.

Notes Text in Greek. Title in Greek and Latin. This edition corrects the errors of the Aldine first edition and manuscript. The work was printed by Andreas Cratander of Basel, whose device appears as a title vignette and on verso of last leaf (colophon); probably printed in association with Johann Bebel.
