Notes Russian World War II Propaganda Poster No. 1021 The text reads: Along the road of victory march The Red Army regiments. And the partisan blades Shine with heroic glory. The war will end with our victory, And people will return to a happy life. And Belarus never shall forget The names of its valorous sons. -- During World War II, the Soviet Union’s news agency, TASS, enlisted artists and writers to bolster support for the nation’s war effort. Working from Moscow, this studio produced many storefront window posters, one for nearly every day of the war. Most of these posters have never been seen in the United States and they are all impressively large and visually striking in the vibrancy and texture of the stencil medium.
