Notes Proof before titles, titles handwritten. A pair of very scarce engravings. "The Rapacious Quack" depicting A greedy medical practitioner demanding a side of bacon for payment from a poor family and "The Benevolent Physician" showing a young man, the physician, walking from the room followed by the artist's wife, a well-dressed and middle-aged woman, who offers him a coin which he refuses to take. Edward Penny (1714 – 1791) was an English portrait and historical painter, one of the founder members of the Royal Academy. Joshua Kirby Baldrey (1754–1828), was an English engraver and draftsman. His chief work is from the east window of King's College Chapel, Cambridge, which he drew and engraved, and then finished highly in colours.
